THE COMPANY

CORDUSTEX Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd. was formed in 1995. The company’s main focus is the conversion of polypropylene (PP) purchased locally to produce spunbond nonwovens which uses a specialized technology to extrude continuous filaments known as “spun bond” for use in hygiene, medical and various industrial applications (both locally and abroad).
Currently, CORDUSTEX is closely associated with UKUVULA INVESTMENT HOLDINGS (PTY) LTD., a BEE consortium situated in Port Elizabeth, who is the main shareholder.

CORDUSTEX consists of three divisions:
• Spunbond Nonwoven
• Textile Lamination & Coating (TLC)
• Composites & Films (C&F)
Spunbond Nonwovens division – this forms the original and core business unit.
The other two divisions, being TLC and C&F, are new divisions within the organization.
TLC is a direct result of the integration of BreatheTex manufacturing under CORDUSTEX. This division focuses on the lamination and coating of textiles for high performance waterproof, breathable products, mainly for the military, police, sports & leisure, fire-fighting, medical, and performance workwear applications.

C&F is a new division that will assist with specific Product Development (PD) and Research and Development (R&D) initiatives that will enable supportive products and technologies to the current spunbond nonwoven products for the hygiene market segment.
